Marriage isn't the easiest thing in the world—but Goop founder Gwyneth Paltrow may have just cracked the code to an easier, lower-stress relationship. In an interview with The Sunday Times, Gwyneth revealed that she and her husband Brad Falchuk—who wed in September of 2018—actually live in separate homes.
The two have been together since meeting on the set of Glee, the beloved show that Brad co-created with Ryan Murphy, in 2014. Ad despite the 5 year romance, the two haven't made the leap to moving in together. “All my married friends say that the way we live sounds ideal and we shouldn’t change a thing,” Gwyneth told The Sunday Times. The wellness guru also added that her intimacy teacher, sex expert Michaela Boehm, was on board with their living arrangement, which she says adds "polarity" to their marriage.
That's not to say they never spend the night together, though. Gwyn and her husband each have their own dwelling and they take turns spending the night at each other's houses. The actress says that dividing up their space has made their marriage even healthier than if they were living together—especially when it comes to their kids.
Since both of the two have children from their first marriages—Gwyneth has Apple, 14, and Moses, 12, with ex-husband Chris Martin—it seemed only right to not force them into cohabitation. “With teenage kids, you’ve got to tread lightly,” she told WSJ Magazine in a previous interview. “We are still doing it in our own way.”
While this unconventional way of living might not be right for every married couple out there—I mean, not everyone can afford two houses!—Gwyneth and Brad are sure making it work for their relationship.
